Otra cara de San Miguel...

San Miguel de Allende it's a constant source of creation... For several years countless amount of artists have come here to cherish their personal expressions and particular vision of life.
We are very proud and happy to invite you to give a chance to yourself to discover and to develop the art that you surely can present to everyone.
In San Miguel we are very fortunate to have the opportunity of share ideas with other artists in order to enrich each other experiences.
These images were taken from a workshop specially dedicated for children at Casa de la Noche B & B. As you can see we were creating this very special masks in a peaceful ambient full of love and joy!

Children from 4 to 10 year old participated, all of them part of big family reunion that came to stay in our B & B for one week, they were very enthusiastic and we were very glad to receive them.
The basic material for these masks is plaster, which is placed carefully to take the shape of the face, then the next step is to add elements such as antennas, hair, feathers, etc., what ever comes to imagination, finally they can be painted and is possible to integrate other materials like glitter, seeds, conchs, etc.
We invite you to contact us to have more detail description about this process, also participate with us in workshops that are being often impart with different topics and for all the ages.

Give yourself a chance to explore your creative skills!

For us it's a pleasure to invite you to enjoy this gorgeous manifestation of art being expressed by the very talented children from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, México.

Painting Workshop! Testimonial

Barbara Hogan and Marcia Dworkin share their experience at Casa de la Noche

I would highly recommend one of Judy’s workshops!

We had a group of about fifteen women, in the delightful environment of Casa de Noche, in San Miguel de Allende.  Some were acclaimed artists, and some had not dabbled in art since elementary school.  We were all given the same colors and supplies, and some initial guidance from Judy.  We then set off on our own explorative, artistic journey.  In the end, each of us had a totally unique piece of art that we were proud of.  Considering we all had the same colors and supplies, it was incredible to see how varied each composition was.  I would do it again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend it to anyone!  (Especially to those who “think” they have no artistic ability…you just might surprise yourself!)

Imagine a workshop in art where no former  artistic experience is necessary and results are a finished piece in just several hours.  What fun it was.
Your materials are easily manipulated and easily corrected.  Thank you for your patience and extremely clear instructions.
I can hardly wait to try this out with my grandaughter age 7 who loves doing "ART".  I bet her 3 year old brother will want to join in.
What I especially like about it is that those of us with experience created great paintings and those of use who know nothing about art did equally well.
A fabulous technique to include in my toolbox of art  ideas.

Painting Workshop !

Hi! My name is Judy Perrin and I taught my first painting workshop today in San Miguel,in the wonderful surroundings of Casa de la Noche!  What fun we had! I had 12 ladies of varying degrees of art expertise, from beginners to professional painters. I demonstrated the use of YUPO Paper, watercolor, acrylic inks and a little salt thrown in for texture! The individual results were absolutely beautiful, considering that everyone received the same color options.

YUPO paper is a synthetic, shiny, paper that is water resistant and when water and watercolors are applied, the colors mingle to a beautiful translucent wash that sits on top of the paper. Once dry, one is left with a very abstract finished painting. The salt adds a little interest,as it absorbs the damp paint. In combination with each other, these mediums produce a magical effect ,leaving everyone with a masterpiece at the end of the workshop! Each piece is matted and ready to hang! I will be offering my next workshop on Sat. Aug.11 from 10am-12 pm, same place, same channel!  The cost is $300 pesos per person, supplies included. For more info. Contact me at judyperrin@shaw.ca

Thanks ladies,it was a blast!
